Mission, Vision and Values

The mission of Reconciler Development, Inc. is to build a highway out of homelessness.

The vision of Reconciler Development, Inc. is:

1) to enhance the resources of Church of the Reconciler, a multicultural/multiracial United Methodist congregation, so that homeless persons will continue to find new and recovered life through their faith and participation in the worship and programs of Church of the Reconciler, and

2) to provide needed programs and resources that will build a highway out of homelessness by providing a supportive home, meaningful work, and access to transportation for homeless men and women in Birmingham, Alabama.

We believe that:

There are no second-class human beings,
Every person is worthy of dignity and respect independent of race or class.
Every person is an heir of worthfulness.
Every person should have access to the relationships and resources they need for meaningful work and home.
Every person is called to struggle to remove evil, misery and suffering from everyone born of a woman.
Every person is called to procure every possible physical, mental and spiritual good for everyone born of a woman.
